Assessment of the conditions of ventilation in Kraków using an advanced modeling system

dzialanie1.jpgHow does it blow in Kraków? At what speed does it blow? What is the map of ventilation corridors of the city like and which is the level of ventilation rates for Kraków? The implementation of the action “Assessment of the conditions of ventilation in Kraków using an advanced modeling system” will provide answers to the above questions. In addition to the preparation of the research program, this action will include the purchase of modern measurement instruments. This will ensure the highest possible level of the performed analyses. One of them will be the measurement of wind by means of SODAR – the apparatus using a mechanism similar to echolocation used by bats. SODAR sends a signal upward and collects back the data of the movement of individual particles carried by wind. During the measurement the apparatus emits sounds of high tones, which may be uncomfortable for some of the residents, and therefore we ask the residents of Kraków for understanding. The work of SODAR will provide information about the movement of the wind in the individual layers.
